Irregular explores the tension between normality and deviation, between the rules that shape how we are expected to express emotion and vulnerability, and the emotions that exist beyond them.

The piece uses dissonance and contrasting sound textures to reflect this conflict. Manipulated urban sounds create an atmosphere of fast-paced city life, transforming familiar city noise into something abstract and unsettling. Inspired partly by Afro-surrealism and projects such as IWOYI, the music approaches vulnerability through a dream-like lens, blending surreal sonic elements with immersive automation techniques.

Long, high-pitched tones reveal fragility and emotional exposure, while deep bass synths provide an opposing force. Together, these layers create a shifting emotional landscape between tension, distortion, and introspection.

The second section, “Revolution,” represents the act of breaking away from irregularity. Sharp, fragmented percussion cuts through the earlier textures, driving the music toward release. By the end, the piece arrives at a sense of peace and resolution.
